Tom Sherrier has extensive human resource experience starting with General Electric where he engaged in union contract negotiations, recruiting and talent development, GE style. He then transferred to a GE international joint venture with Ericsson, which years later was divested to Com-Net. Tom became the Vice President of Human Resources for Com-Net until they too sold the company. After the second divestiture, Tom started A La Carte HR and was soon doing HR projects for Therma-Tru in three countries. He followed those projects with six and a half years at Fleet Laboratories running the HR department along with his change projects. In total, he has performed work in 16 countries. His international work regularly involved taking diverse teams from around the world and helping them plan how to collaborate on large projects.
Prior to joining GE he ran a counseling services business, which tripled in size under his leadership. While there, he personally provided readjustment counseling to groups of Viet Nam veterans who were experiencing Post Traumatic Stress. He earned his Master’s degree from Penn State in Counseling and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Psychology.
